How long can a common house spider live for without air ?

Unless you found a way to pump air out of the container, there is air in there. Even if you did pump air out, it would not be a perfect vacuum. The spider can probably live in there for a few days without cycling the air. They don’t use up much oxygen. That they can go several months without food, but not water. They need water much more often. However, smaller spiders can get the water they need out of the humidity of the air. The small hairs on their legs can collect dew which the spider will then suck off their legs. In air conditioned and heated homes, the air can get very dry though, which is why you tend to find spiders in bathrooms, basements, and cellars more than any other part of the house.
