How long can the elderly live without water?
Dear Smallsas, I know this is a difficult time and I realize that you are really concerned. If your Grandpa has has no food or water then he will probably live maybe 7 days at best. When people are very old like my Aunt Anna, she 99 and one day short of 100 yrs old she didn’t want any life saving measures and so she had no food or water and she lived seven days. That is about the usual time period. Of course we wet her lips and mouth with a wash cloth to keep her more comfortable. He can here you in a coma so talk to him, comfort him by holding his hand, be with him as much as you can, and help him accept the Lord or if he has, help him repent of sin so that when he does go, he will be ready to meet the Lord. If he has comfort care they are probably giving him something too make him comfortable and pain free. Pray for him as I will pray for both of you. God Bless!
