How long did people find themselves needing to wear hard collar brace after 2-level cervical fusion?
hi jonben55 – sorry no one has answered ur post – hopefully with my response getting ur post up to the top someone will let u know – i can’t answer ur question regarding neck braces/collars but i can tell u about my back operation – had it 2/25/08 (Anterior Lumbar Fusion L5-S1) – and had to wear the backbrace 24/7 but not when taking a shower (uh duh – why do they think we are stupid!LOL) – or to the bathroom – it had a big turtle shell on the backside and a wrap around brace on the inside – i couldn’t wear the turtle shell part and wore the wrap around part during the day – at night i would use lots of pillows to make sure i kept my back straight. so it’s been almost 2 years and i still wear the back brace during the day – i find that when i do not wear it i start to slouch – and when i do that my lower back starts hurting real bad.
