If you take good care of your hearing aids, they should last about six years. During this time, your hearing may change, typically necessitating a programming adjustment by your hearing aid dispenser or audiologist.  more

My general rule of thumb when someone purchases new hearing aids from me is four to five years. After the five year mark, it is often difficult to get an aid repaired and the repair warranty if often short. Although I have seen some eight to ten year old aids in relatively good working condition! Speaking of repairs….

A. How long your hearing aids will last depends on the style of the aid, how much you wear it, amount of earwax produced etc. However, on average, it is expected that most hearing aids will last four to five years before they need replacing.  more

The most common repairs required by hearing aids are based on dirt and debris blocking the microphones and the receivers. In other words, the majority of repairs required are due to poor/low maintenance. Your hearing healthcare professional at Advanced Hearing Aid & Audiology Associates, LLC will review with you how to maintain your hearing aids, how to keep them clean and dry, how to change batteries etc. Nonetheless, if the hearing aids are well maintained, generally speaking, they can last 5 to 7 years.  more

Hearing aids should last about five years if they are properly cared for. Although digital hearing aids can adapt to various changes in hearing, a significant hearing change may require different hearing aid technology or hearing aid type. In five years time, generally there are advances in technology that you may want to consider and try.  more

On average, hearing aids last 3-5 years, depending on how well they are taken care of, your particular body chemistry, and whether or not your hearing changes significantly. Should your hearing change slightly, your hearing aids can be adjusted accordingly. Bear in mind that your communication needs may also change. If there is a dramatic change in your hearing or lifestyle, you may require an alternative type of device with different features.
