How long do pro baseball players use the same glove?

It can depend on the player, but i would have to imagine that a glove in the pros would last for a max of 2-3 seasons. having a new one every year would be too hard to do, professional quality gloves take months to break in properly. It also depends on how much the player plays. If it is a starting shortstop, catcher, or outfielder, they would probably destroy their gloves much faster than a relief/starting pitcher or back-up infielder/outfielder. It can also depend on the brand and type of glove. In my experiences infield/pitching gloves usually break in the fastest and tend to last pretty long. Outfield and catching gloves take forever to break in and also last for a while, but like i said, it depends on the player and brand of glove.

Each player has many gloves…usually they find one they like and will use that for a season. They kind of test them out in spring training and find which one feels the best….some players always use the same model glove, some switch regularily. I always enjoy watching baseball to see what players wear what type of glove.
