How long do tutoring sessions last?
Each session (subject) they attend is an hour long. Typically, most of our students do at least two hours at a time two or three days a week. There is a minimum of three hours per program. In the summer, some of our students will do six to eight hours a week because school’s out. How are students rewarded? Every time a student completes an assignment with a teacher, they earn a token. We have a big token store. We have small things to gift cards – wherever they want them. How do you help students feel good about doing schoolwork in the summer? By stepping back to the very first thing they’re missing, you start seeing their self-esteem come up because they can do it. Seeing those little light bulbs go off, plus earning rewards while they’re there makes them enjoy coming back. And they make some good friends there, and we try to have a warm, relaxing environment. Sessions are scheduled for 30 minute slots. Students who want more time with a consultant may remain for an additional half hour after their session is completed provided no one else has scheduled an appointment for that time slot. Please note, however, that consultations are limited to two per day or four per week.
Our one-on-one program entitles you to 40 total hours of tutoring. TestQuest requests a minimum of two hours for each tutoring session. We recommend at least two sessions per week for optimal results. However you can set the schedule as best fits your family’s needs. Generally our 40 hour program will be spaced out over a three month period. Our tutors are available to you after school, evenings, weekends, and holidays (except summer vacation).

Faculty Tutorial sessions usually run at hour increments, where as the Faculty Midterm/Final Review sessions usually run for two hours.

That helps you become a better writer in the long run. Where is the Writing Center? We are located on the ground floor of Hedberg Library. The Writing Center is on the north end toward the back, near the video collection. Do I need an appointment? Yes. We strongly recommend making an appointment. Although you can drop in, we might not be able to see you that day. Our slots get booked very fast, especially during midterms and finals. It helps to plan ahead by scheduling an appointment.
