“This question is one of the most often asked by those new to body piercings. Due to the differences between each individual, belly piercing healing times can vary widely, and can take as little as 4-6 months, up to 18 months (any linger than that, and your body may not be able to tolerate body piercing -see your doctor). Some of the things that can hamper your body efforts to heal your belly ring piercing properly include exposing it to poorly chlorinated water (which is why we advise our customer’s with new belly piercings to stay out of the pool until fully healed!), tight fitting clothing that irritates the piercing, and any other factor that can serve to compromise your body’s natural ability to heal (including poor diet, stress, illness, and lack of proper piercing after care).
