Maryland bridges can last for many years. Occasionally they do come unstuck but they can be recemented again. A single metal wing supporting only one tooth is very reliable and is often used to replace a missing front tooth in teenagers who are too young for implants. In older patients we often use even long-span Maryland bridges as a temporary means of filling a gap until implant supported bridges can be fitted. more
