How long does it take a new Physician Assistant graduate to get a temporary license in Texas?
In short, no PANCE results means no temporary license because Texas requires NCCPA Certification for initial licensure. Based on a recent policy change at TSBPAE, which was prompted by the increased frequency of the PANCE exams (previously two times a year) and the availablity of the exam results shortly thereafter, the absolute minimum would be one month after graduation.A graduate may take the PANCE 2 weeks after graduation and will have their results within 2 weeks according to NCCPA. That means that new graduates need to wait at least 1 month after graduation to be issued a temp license. If the graduate fails to register for the exam or wants to wait longer than 2 weeks to take the exam, obviously that will delay the process.
