How long does it take for cervix to dilate?
Everybody is very different so there is no real answer. I had a three sweeps and i am glad i did because the day i was due to be induced i went into labour on my own. I was 42 weeks plus 1 day. The trick with the sweep is to relax as much as you can i found them uncomfortable rather than painful. The first time i had one done it was difficult to do because my cervix was closed. It took 12 hours for my cervix to dilate to 10cm. When i went into hospital i was 2cm dilated.
