How long does it take to get to Camiguin from Cebu on the ferry?
I was in Camiguin recently and, yes, the airport is not operational. It has been closed for ages. There is no ferry from Cebu to Camiguin. The fastest way is to fly to Cagayan de Oro from where you will take a bus to Balingoan (80kms) where you can take a ferry to Camiguin. This is the most popular route. You may read up on Camiguin and how to get there from my recent travel blog entry: http://boyplakwatsa.wordpress.com/2010/0… Another alternative is to take a ferry to Bohol (2 hours on a fast ferry), take a V-Hire (vans) to Jagna (P80, one hoour travel), and from Jagna take a ferry to Camiguin (if the fast ferry is now operational, it is only 2 hours, but it was on dry dock when I made a crossing between Bohol and Camiguin, otherwise, the regular ferry ride will be 3 hours). I have described this route on my Bohol blog :
