How long does it take to microwave a baked potato?
The answers above are generally good. Depending on the wattage of your microwave and the size of the potato, it could vary from 3 (for quite small ones) to 10 minutes. But why do you want to bake it in the microwave? Speed is poor compensation for a potato that’s far less nice. If you want a really good baked potato, put oil or salt on the skin and stick it in the oven for an hour and a half at about 200C (don’t forget to prick it a few times first). If you’ve ever had a grilled sandwich and a microwaved sandwich, you’ll know that the first is immeasurably better than the second. It’s much the same with potatoes.
