How long does it take to thaw a turkey at room temperature?
Never thaw at room temperature. Quick thaw put the bird, still in the bag or wrap it came in, in a sink of cold water and allow the cold water to slowly run over the bird. You will have to monitor how much water goes into the sink so it does not overflow. Doing it this way it may take 30 minutes per pound. Best way to thaw is in the refrigerator allow 3 to 5 days depending on the size of the bird.
