How long does prozac take to show effect, and what are withdrawls like?
Let’s say that somebody was prescribed fluoxetine (generic prozac to my knowledge), such that they had a one month supply. Would they start feeling the effects from the first day they took the medicine, or would it be halfway through the month before they became saturated with enough of it for the effects to begin working. I have heard both ways. Also, if they took it for a month and didn’t like it and just stopped (didn’t go back for a refill) how bad, and what would, the withdrawl symptoms be? I don’t think you could know after a month whether an anti-depressant works or not. the only reason I could see that would justify quitting a med right away would be if you had bad side effects like impotence or inability to get an erection.
