How long does the Chapter 7 process take?

Once a case is filed, a meeting of creditors is held within 20-40 days. At the conclusion of the meeting, there are sixty days for a party to file an objection to discharge or motion to except a debt from discharge. Assuming none are filed or if filed, denied, a discharge will be entered no sooner than 60 days from the conclusion of the meeting of creditors. The discharge can be revoked; therefore it does not necessarily mean the end of the case.
