Many parts of the wall have not been reconstructed since their original construction 1000-2000+ years ago. Therefore, many areas of the wall are just an overgrown mound of bricks and rocks. The route that the wall took is still marked, and there are still remnants, so the above answer 15000km/9000m is correct.
