Nearly 100 years later, the Japanese would rely upon this discovery to use Microcurrent on its soldiers during WWII, as Japanese physicians found that small electrical currents promoted the mending of non-healing bone fractures, reducing the time it took to heal. The first commercial device outputting microcurrent stimulation was the Dermatron, developed in the 1960’s by Dr. Reinhold Voll of Germany.
