Oh wow. I’m gonna have to go back to November 29, 1972. Pong is released by Atari as a coin – operated video game machine. That’s gotta be the first official video game release. But the first home console was…the Magnavox Odyssey, I believe (which was also released in 1972). And things just skyrocketed from there, all the way up to the Playstation 3, the ultimate gaming experience (ahem…360 fail rate=over 30% ‘cough’).
