It varies how long sperm can live inside a woman’s body. It depends on a lot of factors such as the health of a particular sperm and the environment inside the woman’s reproductive system. Generally speaking, sperm have the potential to live several days inside a woman and possibly as many as 6-7 days. Every ejaculation contains millions of sperm, some will live a short period of time, others longer. In regards to infection and conception, it really depends on what type of infection you are talking about. If you have an ear infection, than no, it won’t likely affect your chances of conception. However, if the woman has a yeast infection, than yes, it is possible that will cause problems for the sperm, especially if it is being treated by a local medication such as a cream or suppository.
