How long is the Roman Catholic mourning period?
There is no set period for mourning. There is the practice of “month’s Mass in some catholic cultures. A Mass is offered for the deceased one month after the loved one died. There is All Souls Day when the dead are remembered and prayed for. Also there is a tradition in some parishes in which one week-end a year, usually on Sat. or Sun. afternoon everyone gathers to pray for deceased relatives in the parish cemetary.
