How long should I bake a 3 lb. turkey breast in a microwave oven?
Wash the breast inside and out with cold water, and pat dry with paper towels. Salt and pepper the cavity. Place a small sliced onion, a celery stalk, and sprigs of fresh thyme, sage and parsley (or a combination of dried) in the cavity. Place the turkey in a greased microwave-safe baking dish. Rub vegetable oil on the outside, and salt and pepper. Cover the breast with a sheet of waxed paper. Place in the microwave and cook at 50% power for 9-10 minutes per pound. If you don’t have a carousel in the microwave, turn the dish every 10-15 minutes. When done, remove from oven and let rest 15 minutes before carving.
