How long should you keep live plants in a fish tank?

You need to make sure the plants that you put in the tank are aquatic plants (meaning they live in water). These NEED to live in water and help provide habitat for the critters that live in the tank. Leave them in there as long as you like, and be careful of putting snails in your tank that like to eat them or they won’t last that long (I had to keep buying plants because they kept eating them!). You can find aquatic plants in the fish section of most pet stores.
