How long will great tribulation last?
Matthew 24:11 – for then there will be great tribulation such has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now, no, nor will occur again. In fact, unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved; but on account of the chosen ones those days will be cut short.” The bible does not define the length of time of the great tribulation. The Hebew word translated day has a variety of meanings including ‘a long time; the time covering and extraordinary event. For instance the bible talks about how God created the earth in six days. This is typically understood not to be a 24 hr day but a period of time. There is a scripture I recall saying a thousand years is like one day to Jehovah. Sometimes people say, “Back in my day…..” We don’t mean one day either. However considering all this the scripture seems to indicate that it will not be a long period of time or else no one would survive.
