How long will it take for the damaged skin to heal?
A number of factors play a role in the speed and the degree to which the skin will repair and heal itself. Those factors include the age of the scar or damaged area, the age of the patient, the extent of damage, the response of the individual’s immune system, therapy compliance, isolation from added damage or irritation, exposure to sunlight, family history, and skin color type. In many instances results are seen within a relatively short period of time (4 to 8 weeks), but patience is the key in any healing process.
