How long will it take to get the symptoms of food poisoning after you eat the food?
Anywhere from 30 minutes to 12 hours, depending on the strain. My husband ate a red potato that had been under a heat lamp too long and he was sick in about 30 minutes. He was only throwing up and had diahrea for an entire night, but was getting better after only about 2-3 hours, so never went for treatment. The reason he knew the potato was bad was by the taste and that was all it took to make him not actually eat it. I ate chicken from a vcendor here in the Philippines and was sick in about 12 hours and ended up in the hospital for 3 days. I was very weak, throwing up and had diahrea.
