High brightness, high power leds are expected to have a 50,000 hour (and above) useful operating life when operated within the manufacturers specifications. How this equates to daily use: LEDs (50,000 hours) Fluorescent (7,500 hours) Common incandescent (750 hours) Operating 24 hours a day = 5.7 years. Operating 24 hours a day = 10.5 months. Operating 24 hours a day = 31 days. Operating 12 hours a day =11.4 years Operating 12 hours a day = 21 months. Operating 12 hours a day = 2 months. Operating 8 hours a day = 17.1 years Operating 8 hours a day = 2.6 years. Operating 8 hours a day = 3.1 months. Operating 4 hours a day = 34.2 years Operating 4 hours a day = 5.1 years. Operating 4 hours a day = 6.2 months. Operating 2 hours a day = 68.4 years. Operating 24 hours a day = 10.2 years. Operating 2 hours a day = 1.4 years.
All manufacturers of LED luminaires give a guarantee that the device will operate for at least 50,000 hours. This is an absolutely fair guarantee, but only with a few clarifications. On the modern market of LED products, there are devices with one or more lighting elements.
