How loud is the band?
Wedding reception bands are different to other bands. The music bands for weddings play will need to conform to the sound levels set out by reception venue. If the band plays too loud, your guests will not enjoy their evening. Some wedding music bands may play at unacceptable levels. If the reception venue has an electronic sound limiter installed, the power will be turned off and your guests will not be happy! HARD TO HANDLE band are wedding specialists – our musicians will play at an acceptable level and our wedding vocalist won’t sing too loudly.
Brass Farthings are not a particularly loud band, however, it is the acoustic of the room which dictates how loud the band sounds. In our experience, we recognise that for most parties, you need the band to be loud enough on the dance floor to create an atmosphere without deafening the rest of the room. In marquees and venues with carpeted floors and soft furnishings this is easy to achieve due to the ‘dead acoustic’. In rooms and halls with high ceilings, wooden/stone floors and lots of windows the echo of the acoustic makes the volume much harder to control. If your venue has an electronic noise limiter we must liaise with the venue before we can accept your booking.
