If the baking squares are sweetened chocolate, like (German's)Sweet Baking) you can substitute the same ounce measure. A single square equals one ounce. If the chocolate is unsweetened, use 1 2/3 ounces of semisweet chocolate (and reduce sugar in recipe by 2 teaspoons for each unit substituted) for 1 ounce unsweetened baking chocolate. About 1 full cup of chocolate chips equals 6 ounces.
