Born in Liverpool in February nineteen fifty nine, Sammy Lee went on to play for England on fourteen occasions, scoring two goals. Sammy Lee began his playing career at his hometown club, Liverpool, signing pro for the club in nineteens seventy six after joining the club as a youth team player a few years earlier. Moe of a fringe player than a first team regular, Lee spent ten years at Anfield and played one hundred and ninety seven league games for the club, scoring thirteen league goals form his position as a central midfielder. In nineteen eighty six he was sold by the then Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish to London club Queens Park Rangers. After thirty league games he moved on to Spanish team Osasuna where he spent three years but managed only twenty eight league games. Currently he is assistant manager to Sam Allardyce at Premiership club Bolton Wanderers.
