How many gallons of gasoline in a barrel of oil?
Matherly. A barrel of US crude is ~ 42 gallons. Refined oil has a lower density, hence a higher volume, assuming no losses along the way. So it yields ~44 gallons of refinery products, not all of which are gasoline. World economy is getting real nervous regards political machinations in the Mideast. There’s plenty of oil in Canada’s tar sands, and at ~ 4-4:50 a barrel, shale reserves come into play in the US. You can of course make it from any organic matter with sufficient chemistry and engineering. http://www.eia.doe.gov/neic/infoshee…production.
