The FLSA does not limit the number of hours per day or per week that employees aged 16 years and older can be required to work. In Illinois, employees must generally receive a minimum of 24 consecutive hours of rest in each calendar week. However, there are exceptions, including an exception for part-time employees who work 20 or fewer hours in a calendar week.
