HOW MANY MOVIES HAS GODZILLA BEEN IN?
Godzilla has appeared in 29 movies (not counting the 1998 U.S. release). Much of the music in these films was done by Akira Ifukube. This composer has not only done Godzilla film music but music to many other Japanese films and is in Japan what a John Williams, Bernard Herrmann or Jerry Goldsmith is in this country. If you’ve ever watched a Godzilla movie then listening to the music on these soundtracks will bring back instant memories. I don’t count the 1998 U.S. Godzilla because if you have seen it like I have, it is Godzilla in name only (sometimes seen referred to as GINO). I enjoyed the movie (plot holes and all) but it was more of a big iguana monster movie than it was Godzilla. Also, the so called soundtrack has no memorable music. Instead it is like many so-called soundtracks coming out today, just a mishmash of songs and artists aimed at young adults.
