How many ostrich eggs are laid at one time?

0

An ostrich lays eggs in batches. It’s always one a time, but it can lay as many as 7 in two weeks, during their fertile period, which lasts about a month after breeding. In nature ostriches rarely breed more then once, and usually lay 10-12 eggs during such a period. They all put them in a communal nest though, so it’s hard to tell which egg came from which bird.
