An earthquake measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale has killed two people in California. The quake struck in the winelands area stretching from Los Angeles to San Francisco. Two women were killed in the town of Paso Robles, around 300km north of Los Angeles, when a 19th century clock tower fell on them.
