How many pints of beer are in a keg?
According to the Google calculator there are 124 US pints in a keg. According to Wikipedia there is a variance in size of a US pint and an imperial pint. A US gallon has less volume than an imperial pint. There are 3.7 Liters in a US gallon and 4.5 liters in an Imperial gallon. A pint is 1/8 of a gallon for both US and Imperial. So with some math work we will find 462.5 milliliters in a US pint and 567.5 milliliters in an Imperial pint. There is an unofficial Metric pint measurement of 500 milliliters. If we multiply the 124 US pints by the 462.5 milliliters we have 57,350 milliliters. Divide this by 1,000 (1,000 milliliters in a liter) and we have 57.350 liters and divide this by the 3.7 liters in a US gallon and we arrive at 15.5 US gallons in a keg or 124 US pints. By any means that is one good night of drinking!
