How many school days can a six year old miss before the state gets involved?
Each state is different. My son has asthma and after he’s missed 12 days in a school year the school has sent us a letter expressing their concern. But he hasn’t failed any grades because of excessive absences. Contact the school to see their policy, and your state’s department of education to see if there is a state policy. I doubt if there will be any kind of fine.
