How many temporary housing units does FEMA have in its inventory?
As of May 29, 2008, FEMA had 7,500 unused temporary housing units in its inventory. Of these, 889 units are ready for use in response to disasters. It is important to note that this number fluctuates as additional units are tested and recently procured units, meeting FEMA’s stringent air quality specifications, are received into our inventory.
