How Many Times Dod Micheal Platini Win World Footballer Of The Year?
Former French and Juventus footballer and current UEFA president Micheal Platini, won the world footballer of the year twice in his career, with both accolades coming his way in successive seasons in the mid eighties. As well as being world footballer of the year, Platini was also European footballer of the year in three sucessive years from nineteen eighty three to nineteen eighty five, making him the world and European footballer of the year in both nineteen eighty four and nineteen eighty five; an achievement to date which has failed to be repeated. Platini enjoyed a high period of success both at club and international level during these seasons. After signing for Italian club Juventus in the summer of nineteen eighty two, Platini was an immediate success at the Turin giants helping them to the Italian cup in his first season. In eighty four he became the first Frenchmen to win the European cup winner s cup as well as helping his national side wih the European championships.
