how many words are in the Spiderwick Chronicle books?
Amazon will sometimes include text stats which will include word counts for books, but I’m not seeing them on any of the Spiderwick Chronicle books. I do see page counts so I can make an estimate, but if you happen to have a copy of one of the books with you, then it should be pretty easy to figure out. Just count all the words in the first five lines or so and get the average (total words divided by the number of lines you counted), multiply that average by the number of lines by page, and then multiply that by the number of pages. Yes, yes, a lot of math and it won’t be precise, but it should give you an idea. My estimate without the books in front of me is that they would be about 40,000 to 45,000 words per book, which makes them short novels (barely above novella length) and a pretty good target for a children’s book. Again, that’s just an estimate but I hope it helps!!
