There are many factors that affect CPU utilization, bandwidth and storage requirements, that a user will have to factor in, that include image resolution, frame rate, number of cameras, motion sensitivity, and recording speed. For optimum results, all the cameras should be set at the lowest possible frame rate that provides acceptable quality, the smallest image size that provides a satisfactory view should be selected, and unwanted areas of motion should be masked. The recording rate should be set to the minimum acceptable level. Setting the highest resolution, maximum selectable frame rate and continuous recording will unnecessarily waste system resources.
