How much choice does the end user have over supplied computer equipment?

0

A. The Computer Services Committee will establish a standard system, and new purchases will meet that standard. Existing stock will be used for replacement parts before new components are purchased for distribution. The Computer Services Committee will consider requests for non-standard equipment based on demonstrated need . Requests for non-standard equipment based on personal preference (ie. Surround sound speakers for an office) may be granted on agreement that the user pays the difference between its cost and a “standard” device, and the item purchased remains the property of the University College. Current system standards are available on the Computer Services web site.
