[The clean fleece yield for the Finnsheep is approximately 70% of the grease weight. An average weight of Finnsheep fleece depends on how often the sheep is shorn. I shear twice a year and my adults average around 2 lbs. of fleece in the grease and the staple length is around 3″. Flocks that are shorn only once a year can weigh 5-6 lbs. with a staple length of 6″.
