Getting your cartilage pierced does sting more than if you were to just your ear lobe pierced, but it’s nothing too excruciating. Like most piercings, the more you think about it & the more tense you get, the more of a sting you will feel. I’d recommend you try to distract yourself by talking to whoever is with you, or maybe even the person who will be piercing your ears. Taking care of your cartilage piercing isn’t any different from taking care of a regular piercing. The only major difference, is how long it takes for your ear to heal. Healing can range anywhere from 3 months to a year because the tissue around that part of your ear is so much thicker than your earlobe. They should give you a cleaning solution for your piercing. Take a cotton swab or Q-Tip and clean the back and front of your piercing/earrings. Always be sure to wash your hands before touching your ears to keep any unnecessary germs from your wound.
