How much does a tattoo on the shoulder blade hurt?
I have a very large tattoo on my upper back (shoulder to shoulder, across my spine, and as low as my bra strap) and it really hurt on the shoulder blade only when it was going across the bony part (I’m a pretty skinny girl). It doesn’t hurt so bad that you should pick a different spot though. As far as black or color hurting worse, I don’t think there is much of a difference. My tattoo was so big it had to be done in 2 sessions and the outline hurt much worse than the coloring/grey shading. Yours shouldn’t take very long though based on the picture. Make sure you shower before you go so you are as clean as possible, take a friend along for moral support, eat a good meal and drink plenty of water a couple hours before you go, bring something to suck on (I had Jolly Ranchers) to keep your blood sugar up and help distract you from the pain a little, and don’t be afraid to ask your tattoo artist for breaks if you need them.
