How much does an envelope weigh in non-fluid ounces?

“An envolope weighs 6.75 grams and 1 ounce = 28.3495231 grams So 28.35 (grams, rounded) divided by 6.75 = 4.20 An envolope weighs approx. 4.20 oz” Apparently, the guy who wrote that failed the 2nd grade! : (Forget the fact that we have no idea what kind of envelope he’s talking about. We’ll just take his word for it that he has one that weighs exactly 6.75 grams) HIS ERRORS: IF you take the number 28.35 and divide it by 6.75, you indeed get 4.20. That DOES NOT mean that his 6.75 gram envelope equals out to be 4.20 ounces! NO! There is no conversion there whatsoever! It only means that there are 4.2 of his envelopes (weighing 6.75 grams each) PER OUNCE. We’ll also have to excuse the fact that a remainder of .2 envelopes is useless and makes no sense, which should have been a tipoff by itself that he was doing something wrong. THE CORRECT WAY: If he truly wanted to find out what one of his envelopes weighed in ounces, the formula he should have consulted in the first place is: 1 gram = 0
