There are more than 75 chemotherapy drugs used for over 200 types of cancer in many hundreds of different regimens. I suggest that the research paper be devoted to chemotherapy for one specific type of cancer situation – such as adjuvant chemotherapy fro node negative breast cancer. In node negative breast cancer, the majority of women are already cured with lumpectomy and radiation therapy; yet, to increase the cure rate we often use adjuvant chemotherapy for the microscopic cells that may have been released and spread through the blood stream. It would be so much better if we knew which people were already cured and which might really benefit from these expensive and toxic chemotherapy regimens. Medical oncology is still a crude and guesswork type of medicine. Use a search engine to look up node negative breast cancer treatments and go from there – or choose some other type of cancer.
