How much does it cost to have an external review?
A. The covered person pays a $25 filing fee, but this is refunded if the carrier’s decision is overturned. The fee does not apply to a request of an expedited review, and it can be waived by the Commissioner if the covered person would suffer undue financial hardship. The health carrier pays for the cost of the external review.
