How much does it cost to make a 4X2 1996 Dodge Ram into a 4X4?
I am about to buy a 1996 Dodge Ram SLT 1500 4X2 and I was wanting to get an estimate on how much it would cost to change it to a 4X4 with junkyard or refurbished parts. I know what all pieces are necessary for the swap, but what I don’t have is a price range. A: i have did one of those a few years back and the only way you can do this is find another wrecked vehicle to work with,it will cost well more than the truck is worth to do this,i did it for myself thinking i could do it cheaply,i got fooled big time,it wound up costing me about 6 grand to build a 4 wheel drive truck,after buying both trucks and doing this it wasn’t worth it,the parts keep in mind are very expensive,you can buy a truck cheaper than you can do this,you have to literally change everything on the truck including all the wiring,i hope you got lots of time and money because you,ll need a lot of both,if you do pursue this make sure you are committed to it because once you start doing it you cant stop if you do the veh
