They never charge you always the employer. Example the employer may use Kelly services and pay them 10.00 per hour. Kelly services will pay you 8.00 dollars per hour. The good news is businesses are desperate to find good help so it is worthwhile to them to hire you instead of paying the staffing agency a 2.00 per hour fee. Also, if you go to work for the company they can afford to pay you a higher rate because they are no longer paying the staffing company. However, business also use staffing agencies for temporary assignments like when an employee is on maternity leave. It is no guarantee that you will get a permanent position but usually within a few months something will stick. You can also you staffing companies on your resume and many offer free classes like typing to help develop your business skills. In my opinion, staffing companies are great. Just do a little research online like Better Business Bureau to make sure they have a good track record of paying employees on time.  more
