If you brush out your dog once a week you will find that they require little to no additional grooming. Nails and the hair between the pads should be trimmed once a month. We only bathe our Cavaliers once a month and some every other month. It depends on your environment and the individual dog. Too much bathing will dry out the skin and coat. Cavaliers are naturally clean dogs and keeping them free of parasites and brushed regularly will help them to remain that way. ALWAYS use dog shampoo to prevent drying of the coat. Be sure to thoroughly dry the ears of your Cavalier with a blow dryer (not on hot) as the ear feathering is very thick and can take hours to dry allowing your Cavalier to catch a chill.  more
